The iPad Lawyer News – 04-09-2014

Good morning, iPad Lawyer Tribe –

During tomorrow’s webinar, I will be discussing Microsoft’s new Office apps for the iPad. Before then, you might want to download the apps (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint – I talked about OneNote in an earlier post). The FREE versions only allow you to read content. However, you can get a free 30-day trial version of Office 365 which will enable all the bells and whistles to work on your new iPad apps during that trial period. Frankly, I’m very, very impressed with the way Word works on the iPad already.

You’ve previously heard me discuss Day One if you’ve attended my live events. This is a journaling app/program that allows you to capture your thoughts, events, feelings, and brainstorming moments. I think it’s a terrific tool to use in running your business or managing your case load because it allows you to “remember” everything and access it later. Normally, this app is $4.99. Today it is only $1.99. You save $3.00.

TextExpander Touch is one of those apps/program combinations that I use every single day without fail. It allows me to enhance my automated document assembly workflow . . . and that saves me time and makes me money. I have TextExpander Touch on my iPad and iPhone. I have the desktop version, as well, on my Mac and Macbook Pro. They all sync together through Dropbox. Think of this as your native keyboard shortcuts on steroids! Normally, the app is $4.99. Today it is only $1.99. You save $3.00.

inShort is a lot of things. For me, it is a way to visualize and map out compex workflows and business processes. This app won’t be for everyone. But if you’re a visual person, like me, you might enjoy what this app allows you to do. Normally, the app is $8.99. Today it is $5.99. You save $3.00.
